Georgia Aquarium

So my girlfriend and I flew up to Atlanta beginning of this week to check out the Georgia Aquarium and let me tell you it was AWESOME! If you are ever up in that area or looking for a quick weekend trip its a must see. We were there from 11-5 and could have stayed even longer. I would highly recommend doing the hour long behind the scenes tour that shows you everything that keeps the place running. If you fly up there you don't even need to rent a car, just take the train from the airport into downtown and its within walking distance from quite a few nice hotels.

Heres some pictures!

It is awesome, I thought there weren't as many displays mostly because the ones they do have are HUGE. I went when they first opened and they had more and larger whale sharks.

What was really cool is we got to talking with one of the employees and told him about my tank, long story short he took us up to the top of the reef tank and showed us all the workings of it. They also have a big coral rescue tank like the blue ones at coral corral with stuff that get left at the airport etc...

We just moved back to Tampa from Atlanta about a year ago. The aquarium there is awesome! We're actually heading up there in a couple weeks and we'll definitely being going to the aquarium.

With that said, I did NOT know that they give tours! How do you get on that? Is there an additional cost?

Yup, the full hour tour is like $50 per person and very worth it IMO. BUT, if you happen to see a guy name Wade (bigger bald guy) get to talking to him and say you are into the reefing hobby and he will more than likely give you a quick look at the top of the reef tank and everything that keeps it running.
