Cancer Sucks
I was able to re-schedule a meeting Thursday afternoon so I could "finish a report" (:)) and go to the Georgia Aquarium. Awesome place.

I would check the warranty in the silicone seals in that tunnel before I went through there, lol. Looks like a cool place to finish a report.

SWSaltwater, you won't be dissappointed. Granted, this was the only public aquarium I've ever been to, so I don't have a frame of reference, but it was very impressive.

John, yeah, with the tunnel and windows holding back 6 million gallons of water, you want good seals, lol.

If you like aquariums, go to the Monterey Bay Aquarium in California. One of the best. Researchers there breed all kinds of livestock and they were the only Aquarium to house a great white shark. The jelly fish display is second to none.

Long Beach has gotten a lot nicer, and I had a behind the scenes tour(They use RK2 skimmers as most large aquariums do). My sister in law has a boyfriend with conections there. They were breeding Dragon Seahorses. Only other place I heard of to do that with sucess was Scripps in San Diego, which is nice as well. I also saw about 4 Clarion angels that were taken from smugglers in LA, I was drueling........ Best aquarium I went to was in New Orleans though. Unfortunately it did not survive katrina and most wildlife parished. At the time when I went it was the largest in the US.

Atlanta is now the tops now from what I hear and see in PICs so unfortunatly for MSM its all downhill from there, hehe. I plan to go within a year once I find a way to get behind the scenes(gotta see the filtration).

Been to Montery, Long Beach and the one on Maui and i think that my favorite one is still the one in Long Beach . You just have to plan to go when all of the bugger machines aren't there so that you can truly enjoy it without all of the screaming :) Even then with all of the beautiful exhibits, including their jellyfish and depwater, the distractions don't take away from the great beauty that is housed within their tanks. Besides, it's a lot closer and there is good beach time to enjoy in CA, weather you enjoy surfing, swimming, SCUBA or whatever.

If you ever decide to head down there let me know and maybe i can hook you up with the Rapture (an old student research vessel that I played on for several years) so that you can hit up some of the channel Islands or Catalina.
