The main reef display is impressive. I think in a few years when the corals have grown larger it will be stunning. The tidal pool and mangrove row are an added bonus. Something you would'nt see unless you take the tour.
I should have taken the back scene tour, but I was with my brother who is not a real big fish guy. I agree that it would be could if it grew in. I though most of the corals looked like they were dying. I have never seen a public aquarium reef tank that impressed me.
Yeah same here. I’ll give a nod to the Baltimore Aquarium reef display. Most of the time the public aquariums will label a display as “coral reef†only to fill it with replicas. Then on the side they’ll have a small 50 gallon filled with live coral. I guess the true Mecca will be the Waikiki Aquarium in Hawaii. The embedded images show a 280 gallon display from the tour at the Georgia Aquarium.
The nicest one Ive ever seen was at Sea World. Ill see if I can scrounge up the pics. It was about 10' long or so and had the nicest healthiest corals Ive ever seen in a public aquarium. It had some plate corals that were over a foot across and tons of basketball sized (and a few larger) soft corals.
nice pics like landon said thanks for sharing them. i also agree the tank was not as nice as i thought it could be like ya said though maybe in a couple of years i also thought the crowds sucked. too many poeple. maybe next timei go back take back stage tour i did however like those giant crab that was from japan in the tank with redlights
