I was thinking of getting a 10 gallon tank at walmart. To start my nano. I was also looking at a aquapod on ebay. 89.00 plus shipping with power head filter lighting ect. Its 12 gallon instead of 10. Has anyone got the aquapod and how is it. Or do you think it would be better making a nano

It depends on what you want to keep.
If you buy the 10 gallon from wally world - you'd want to just buy the tank without the lights, etc, and buy your own lights (most 20" fixtures run over 100.00).
WIth that setup you could buy the 96 watt powerquad made by coralife and have lps, shrooms, zoos, softies, etc.
The pod has a little lower lighting system, but would keep shrooms and zoos nice, perhaps some sofites, and lower light loving lps.
I'd go with the pod. You can do your own fuge in the back of it (cut the black back pannel and add a lightbulb. Plus you can put your heater, etc back there. You'd be limited to skimmers (nano fission, which sucks IMO), but weekly water changes would be all you need.
The 12 gallon pod gets my vote.

You'll probably end up tearing the aquapod apart anyhow to redo everything so you might as well go with ten gallon and save yourself the hassle. You have far more options with a 10 gallon than you do with the pod. just my two cents.

If your a good DIY guy, go with the 10 gallon. If you're not the get the aquapod.
The aquapod is easier and will cost you alot less to achieve nearly the same setup.

go with a 20g a 10g would be go to start but soon you'll be wishing you had gone with the larger tank. you get more lighting options and a ton of support for diy projects and any problems you may have....btw im in the process of converting over 2 freshwater 20gs to move my 2 12g nanos wich have been very customzed
