Getting a P3ex going- which software?

Hi,
I bought a P2ex and progressive reef upgraded it to a P3ex a couple years ago. This is my first try using it.
I powered on the P3 and hooked it up to my laptop via a USB cable. Downloaded control 5.1.2.5 and see you can connect only by tcp/ip and rs232. Is there a different controller I can download and use?
Will I be able to program this P3 using the USB?

I just recently setup and upgraded my profilux. I went out and got an rs232 to USB cable (the one with the software cd inside) and connected it. Worked very well. There are tons on info on support site (especially the how-to videos)
