I injured a condy once by trying to move it with my fingers. (it recovered within a couple of weeks). I've used the credit card trick successfully a few times since. The key is to go very slowly.
I used the end of a brush from a kit for cleaning pumps and power heads. It had an eyelet that was plastic coated and it was stiff enough to keep working the foot off. The rock was particularly jagged and porous so the nem had a pretty good foothold.
glad it worked out for ya. I had one which kept wandering, surrounded him with rubble rock to get him out. Same might work with something making them move like a powerhead.
I have used the rubber tip dental pick. I get one every six months from the dentist but keep loosing them. Finger with no nail works just need to be carefull. Sometimes chipping some of the rock is safer.
