Getting another itch

I am in the process of setting up an in-wall 210 as a full reef in my finished basement. This is an upgrade from my 135. I also happen to have a 30" cube (110gallons) that first perfectly in the corner of my living room on the first floor. My original idea was to plumb this into the sump on the large tank and have 2 reefs.

But...I kinda like the idea of a seahorses in the 30" cube. In this case, I would keep the tanks seperate. I have just started reading around, but would love any input. What do I need for filtration and lighting etc. for the seahorses?? I will certainly do a sump, with a small return pump to keep flow down, and will try to distribute the flow between several return pipes. I like the idea of a DSB to plant seagrasses etc in. and since the tank is 30" tall, I still have plenty of height. I havent seen alot of info on lightings for horses though.?

What do you think? ideas welcome!

I run a similar setup ( less the DSB )

I run a skimmer and a sump. I have macro in the sump on a reverse light cycle.

Seems to work well....

Sounds awesome ... and cubes are made for seahorses!

Seahorses don't have any light requirements, except enough to see. Normal Output (NO) flourescents or even room light is enough.

seagrass on the other hand requires high lighting (6-7 watts per gallon). I like mangroves ... good nutrient export and great natural hitches.

Yup, I run skimmer, sump and macro to.

You can use about any light with seahorses, mine just has a flourecent tube. As for water flow, I have always heard that seahorses don't like a lot of flow, but mine stay in it and seem to like it. It's like they're playing in it. Goodluck and make sure they are tank raised seahorses.
