Hey all... ive got a lot of questions for ya.
first off im a semi new reefer, had a 60 gallon bout a year back went on vacation had some problems got discouraged etc...
I've got more free time now and would like to get back into the hobby. money is sort of an issue because im only a high school student, but in going through my equipment, ive decided to start a 20g tank.
i have a 20 gallon glass tank, a 130 watt corallife lighting fixture, a HOB aqua c remora pro skimmer( not sure if needed, if not let me know) and more testing equipment than id like to count.
i know i need a heater live rock and possibly a think sand bed but im not sure what else. any suggestions? i have an ro di machine under my salt, mixing my own salt will be easy and i have a refractometer.
Im basically looking ot keep a 20g clownfish tank with maybe one more fish and some soft corals?
please help me, im open to any comments, suggestions, tips and anything else you can think of.
thanks for your help,
kevin

try a 4inch sandbed and keep but the pump will be large any thoughts on getting the tank drilled and using a sump?

ok. nah sump is a little tricky for my room setup... looking for a stand alone 20 gallon. what kind of floq should i be looking at?

DSB is not a good idea for a nano. For ease of maintenance you should keep it a shallow sand bed for aesthetics or you could go bare bottom, much eaier than dealing with a 4 inch sandbed in a 20 gallon.

sounds good i was going to go with a 2 inch sandbed anyway. what should i do about flow in this system? any suggestions?
