Getting Back in - Options for a 29gal sump system

We are in the new house, and will get a large tank.
But I want to start out with a small tank upstairs.

I have a 30" light and a space about 30"
So I am currently looking for a used 29gal tank.

I was always a fan of a sump and a deep sand bed.
Tank will have plenty of live rock and mostly LPS coral.
Maybe a pair of fish, but fish load will be small.

Would like to use sump and deep sand bed to avoid a skimmer.

So I can see more modern options to drill the tank.
Been reading about BeanAnimal method.
But I think this might be overkill for 29gal tank?
Suggestions on how I plumb down to the sump?

I'm using a 700gph overflow kit from glass-holes.com on my 50 breeder.

I then used 1"5 inch flex pvc to get down to the sump. I like it since it glues right into regular PVC. When ordering the kit get a couple of extra gaskets. I had a leak when I first installed and the extra I had fixed it easy.

I am not a handy person and I was able to drill the tank myself.

All of my previous tanks also had the overflow boxes, some store bought and some DIY by me. But my current tank, a 40 breeder, I decided to go with a glass-holes.com box with 2" plumbing for the overflow. It's the 700gph kit.

I have to admit I was a bit hesitant as its all hard plumbed to the sump with a quick-disconnect pvc section near the top, but it is quite solid. Guess I was used to the pool type flex hoses I used to use.

Bean Animal would require 3 siphons and that may take up a lot of back space on a 29 gallon tank, plus most people prefer a coast 2 coast overflow instead of a weired overflow box.

Don't forget where you plan to put the tank noise might be an issue.

The other thing to think about is that since your dealing with such a small display you might be able to look into a custom tank or maybe a DIY tank if affordability is an issue. Money is my limiting factor so it's a small system this time around. 30 cube display with a 40b sump with 20g of that as fuge.

You might want to really think about your display. The 30 cube looks so much better than a 29 standard tank.
