Getting Clams to 'stay in place'

Hi all:

I hope this isn't too lame a question: My aquarium is 'almost' mature -- and I'm getting ready to put in a couple of clams. The rock is pretty flat with a slight angle to it. I've read in several posts about the pains of getting a clam to stay where you want it.

Any hints / threads you can point me to for guidance on this?

there is no shortcut- the clam will need to be happy. You can try a small ring of PVC around the clam, but no guarantees. Just be sure to give the clam everything it needs right from the get go.
