Getting out a Purple lobster

What's the best way to get him out of my 150 gal tank? He is a beaut but I'd like to put in some shrimp which I believe he would eat.

Thanks

If you have room, take a 2 litre soda bottle, cut the top off and insert it backwrds, into the base section. Shazam, you have a trap. Place a piece of raw shrimp in there and wait. Be sure the opening is large enough for him to pass through. Once in, he will not be able to exit.

Good Luck!

BTW, the cut location is at the largest radius under the top opening

nice trick. I was going to say watch deadliest catch to perfect the techniques of shellfish capture. or just make a trap that is easy to get into but inverted walls to prevent climbing then a good chunk of food.

I've had a debellis reef lobster in my 90 for about a year and a half with a blood shrimp and many hermits and he has been a model citizen, FWIW.

might be a weird Idea, but when we go Gar fishing we use large cotton balls to tangle in their teeth..

I was thinking maybe you can do the same here, make a cotton ball attach it to light yarn or fishing line put a little sinker or rubble on it,turn the lights out and wait for him to get tangled trying to get to the food..Then pluck him out..

One thing you can count on is a scavenger being nosy when food is around
