dang I should have cleaned out my closet earlier. Does anyone want an old 12" Aquafuge with the nice Finnex PC light for $60? There's no pump, and it's missing one of the little pegs that rests against the tank but I figure it would be easy enough to lodge something in between.

I have long been entertaining a refuge for my sump. It is an acrylic box by Tenacor and is not completely open. I'd like to look at your set-up and see if I could rig it to my sump. I'll send you a PM.
