Those were my thoughts exactely.

I've built many cars in the past, and some I've been conservative on, and some i've gone wayyy overboard with. Trust me...320 wheel horsepower on a light car like a honda is going to be smokin fast! Plus...like you said it will still be reliable. And 91 octane will do just fine which you might have issues with running 9.1 C/R and 23 psi if you went that route.

Anyways...I'd love to come check out your ride when its all done...and if you ever need a roll bar or roll cage, I'm your man!

Back on topic....LOL. can I come by this weekend for my large yellow tang and blue tang???

1) Sell Honda
2) Buy Chevy LS6 pullout engine/trans ($3850)
3) Buy '73 Datsun 240Z body ($1000)
4) Buy 'Jegster' chassis kit, engine mounts and front end ($3400)
5) Buy used rear and convert to locker ($100)
6) Add rims and tires ($1000)
7) Bolt and/or weld #2 - #6 together
8) Find formerly owned Honda and embarass new owner with your <$10K monster

That is hardly the 240Z I would build, just the cheapest way to do it. Keep in mind I am talking a '71 to '73 Datsun, not that bomb Nissan built in the 90's.

A 2000lb car with a 300HP+/300ftlb+ V8 will blow most cars off the street as long as it is a straight line (0.15 power/weight ratio). Old school Chevy 350's are a dime a dozen and a few inexpensive mods will score you a net change in HP greater than the total output of a built VW 2700cc Type 4 (200HP and a $6500 engine).


I am sure you have more than $2500 in to your bug.
