Getting Rid Of Anemone

I was told by someone on this forum to get rid of my anemone because it could conflict or cause problems in a reef tank. I have 2 percula clowns, 1 yellow tang, 1 leopard wrasse, 1 lawnmower blenny, 2 newly added corals, 1 anemone, 6 snails and a couple babies, 2 hermit crabs.

Please help me out as I would like to add more colorful corals to my tank.

Do I need to get rid of it and if so, how?
 
Typically your anemone will wonder around until it finds its spot and then stay put. Once the happens you can put corals in safe locations away from your anemone. If you have a Bubble tip Anemone be aware that they grow quickly and split often. I put one that was 1.5 inches across in my 12 gal. nano six months ago. Today it is 6 or 7 inches across and I expect it to split soon.
 
as for the tang, my local fish store advised me it was ok. Actually he sold me two. I am waiting for them to get blue ones.

my anemone is about 7 or 8 inches when she spreads out. she's huge and my clowns don't really go in it.

i'm nervous it will split and mess my work up with the corals.

problem is she wont let me even more her to get her out.

it's a 45 gallon tall tank. It's 2 feet tall and 3 feet wide.

no idea what kind of anemone it is. need help with that.

Okay we'll a yellow tang does not belong in that tank and most definetly not a blue one. Your local fish store is a bussiness and they are there to make money. So they will sell you whatever.

As for the anemone if that what it looks like than it is probably a lta or a sebae and they do not split so it will be fine where it is. If you really want to get it out try a ice cube on the foot or direct more flow at it and it will probably let go abit. Just don't tear its foot otherwise it will probably perish on you.

I would have to say Moreensis sp +correct spelling aka LTA/Corkscrew Anemone. You should be fine as long as the thing gets where it wants to.
 
yah i don't think there will be a problem as long as its not movin around. i have an nem and corals in my tank as well. i actually have a gap in between my rocks so the nem won't start moving to the rocks with the corals.
 
If you live in the Bay Area and knows Aquatic Gallery, you'll see one of their display tank with lots of SPS and soft corals with a huge RBTA. So I think it is safe to have an anemone in a reef set up. I used to have RBTA in my mixed SPS/soft coral tank and my nems never move around. This was prior to the crashed due to using vodka.
 
I have four anemones in my tank (Two rose bubble tips, a green bubble and a brown as well) I haven't had a single problem in my reef. They have all stayed in the same spot for months now. But I just don't put any corals within several inches of them.
 
you may or may not have one that will stay put. its going to be different for everyone. if its happy, itll stay put, but may one day decide to move somewhere else and sting corals that it walks by
