getting setup

i brought 4 baby reidi into the store last order, and the boss' wife fell inlove. they are currently housed (for display purposes in a 20H with a whisper 60 running as slow as possible.

she has asked me to setup a tank for her to keep em at home, and has selected the Oceanic 42hex (a lovely cherry one i might add)
I'm kinda stuck in my filter decision. I love the Whisp 60 for it's good filtration at low flow in a horse tank, but it won't fit on the back of the hex...
what do you think is a good choice?
and will these 4 be able to live happily in this tank for the long term?

TIA
chris

how tall is it-I'd say yes, as long as its about 2 feet tall...

I'd go with whatever filtration you can fit on there, and emphasize to her about water changes, and how to care for them...

long term, as long as YOU know what your doing setting up the tank, and cycling/etc etc about horses, and YOU can pass it on to HER they will be fine.

ps: eating frozen, right? mysis, not brine, right?

23 1/2 inches tall, couldn't get much closer to 2' :)

they are kinda small at the moment for mysis 1 1/2 -2" they wouldn't take. so i'm feeding froz brine with binder soked in Zoe and garlic till they are big enough to transition, which they take eagerly. any reason this is wrong? i'd prefer mysis as i always do but the size is an issue...

i will be setting up and maintaining the tank with weekly waterchanges, i'll keep that puppy in line! :)

brine isn't nutritious.. thats why. If they are THAT small, I dunno: ummm, I'd go on either seahorse or syngnathid .org to find out what to do with that size. I didn't get mine till they were 4 inches. you may beable to get them onto shaved mysis.

but, at least they eat thier brine frozen!!! garlic does nothing, really: people say it stimulates... blah blah. I don't fall for it, but hey-whatever??? the Zoe is good, selcon would also be good (I think thats what they give them for supplements)

ummm... yeah, check out the rearing forums on the other sites. They'll tell ya more than I could about tiny juvies like that.
