Getting started and doing it right

Hi

I'll have a 4' tank empty after Christmas and I'd like to look at putting sea horses in it. Knowing very little about them and not having many people to turn to in the UK can anyone recommend a good book to get me started. I'm sure I'll then be a frequent nuisance on the board with all my questions.

I don't like most of the seahorse books that are out there. Or at least the hobbiest level books. The ones published that I've read so far seem to be lacking information. Of course, I haven't read them all.

I would recommend checking around the web. Seahorse.org has a huge number of articles and a very active membership so there is a lot of information in their forums.

I also wrote an article last year that covers some of the basics. You can see it here:

Hope that helps.

The most up to date info on horse keeping is on these boards. You will get conflicting info at times, but it is worth while to read posts here (lots of questions on setting up tanks) and checking out the libraray at seahorse.org
