Getting the top offf the nano cube 24 gallon 2004

Does anybody know how to get the top off this thing... its the 2004 so its not screw off like the others its the hinge one... i need to get it off because it have some electronic stuff i need to do with it and i what to bring it away from the tank...Thanks

try grabbing it at the hinges, lift and lower the lid while using your hand to pry each side from the joint. Pull while lifting and lowering. Do one side at a time.

im trying to do it it wont come free thought.. Maybe im not doing it right?
