Gfo and carbon

Hey y'all welli just finished getting all my equipment set up and am about to sart the tank but I notice my gfo and carbon reactor was not running it has been stagnant for a few weeks should I change the media or will it be good.

I change mine every 2 weeks. But test everything

Ok I think I'll just change it since I t has just been sitting there tanks.

I change my GFO/Carbon every month as I'm doing my water change. I clean the reactor and pump at the same time.

I'd change it.

I have been changing my GAC and GFO every 2 weeks and I may for a bit try every week since one of my giganteas seems to be slowly declining and I'm wondering if I need more GAC to deal with potential allelopathy.
