GFO Selection

[NYC/NJREEFS]

I have a question about selecting GFO, Bulk Reef Supplies carries two different grains: pelletized or granular. I'm planning on using it in a reactor, which one should I use? The pellets produce less fines/dust. Any comments or advise would be greatly appreciated.

Reactor: NextReef MR1 w/sponges, using a 100gph pump

I have used both - currently the pellets. Either way ya gotta run some water thru to rinse them - pellets maybe not quite as much. Buy as large a quantity as possible - much better prices that way!

they suggest using granular when being used in a reactor. That is also what I use.

Greater surface area with granular; it will be more effective when used in a reactor.
