Gfo tumble

Seems like the top has good movement. Do you have a lot in there? Doesn't seem like bottom is moving.

It is a BRS jumbo reactor. 6 cups of regular GFO. I can adjust the flow by using the gate valve on my manifold. But if I adjust it up enough to tumble the bottom, Im afraid the top would beat itself up and disintegrate.

I havent run GFO in close to a year, and that was in a Nexreef MR1. First time using the BRS jumbo.

Seems like you might be blowing it out the top with that much gfo in thecrwactor. I would not fill it past 2/3 and make sure the effluent goes into a felt filter sock so you don't blow the dust everywhere.

6 cups seems like alot to me,but Im not sure. BRS has a calculator on their site you can use.

Also it seems a bit strong to me up top. You only want it to lightly dance on the top from my experience.

According to BRS website it 'Holds 6 cups of carbon or GFO (Designed to use only one media)". I actually have 2 of these reactors. 1 is currently not in use. I may turn off the first and divide the GFO between the 2 of them then turn them back on.

I am currently running it into a filter sock to catch any fine particles that may blow out.

Be careful. You may want to cut the amount in half (or more) and let the PO4 drop slowly. I did a "recommended" amount after not running it for a couple of months and really , really ticked off the tank, especially the sps. No polyp extension for weeks, and ended up losing a few. Your tank is looking awesome, I'd hate for you to suffer a setback.

I think the flow is a bit high in there TBH. You want it slowly tumbling on top not bouncing and jumping.
