GHA | Algae blenny?

Hi

I'm thinking of getting a algae blenny to help me with my GHA problem. I know I need to solve the root cause but hoping that the blenny can help make the tank look tidier in the meantime. I have a 120g tank and currently have 5 chromis, 2 clowns, a longnose hawkfish and a diamond watchman goby, so especially wondering if the blenny and goby will get on

All thoughts and feedback is appreciated? any better recommendations for an algae eater?

the starry blenny is a better choice as it won't starve if it doesn't eat the algae. lawnmowers often will only eat algae, and only certain kinds of algae.

My hector goby eats algae, but only a little bit (because its so small anyways)

+1 for starry blenny... hardy fish that should get along with your current stock list just fine (may compete with the hawk for the top perch but no real aggression).

My sailfin (algae) blenny eats film algae sometimes and occasionally hair algae but mostly just the food I feed, pellets, frozen, flake foods. I am wondering if I can keep a hectors goby and a rainfords in the same tank. I know the hectors is very passive but the rainford can be aggressive at times. Anywho, didn't mean to derail, my sailfin blenny has tons of personality and I think hes very pretty to look at.

Your tank is big enough that, if you provided ample hiding places, the two shouldn't have any problems.

No fish eats hair algae, they may nip and take a little bite, but none will control it the way we'd all love. As for general algae grazing, can't go wrong with tangs (and your tank is big enough).

I have had both a Starry and Lawnmower. They are both very cool fish. I know some Lawnmowers will not eat anything but algae but mine also eats mysis and even pellets. It will help with the GHA but you do need to find the root of the problem.
