GHL Doser

I picked up the Doser 2 the other day. Set it up to dose my calcium, alk and with the other two pumps auto water changes. Without logging, how does anyone know whether the dosed amounts are correct? How would you know if you over or under dosed something? Is it just blind trust?

When I used the DOS and it overdosed I knew it because of those logs, not to mention my reservoir was empty, but those logs gave me the info I needed to monitor daily activity.

Isn't there a dosing graph on the GHL dashboard. I'm sure I stumbled across something when I was setting mine up. Will have to go and look. I generally don't bother, just eyeball the dosing containers.

The graph is of the schedule. Helpful to see what is supposed to happen but I don't really need a visual of what is supposed to get dosed. I'd much rather see what has been dosed.

Even with logs it is blind trust...how do you want to determine wether it dosed the right amount or not?

With the Neptune DOS I am able to see what times and the amount dosed at each interval. When I manually dose it includes that information in the log. I can then easily total the amount dosed per day or per week. If there's a failure or for some reason the pump gets stuck or runs continuously then I can view how much more or less was dosed. If I am running maintenance and shut down the doser for an extended time I can see what was missed. This information was very helpful when I had a pump continuously run. I had actual data that showed me how much more was added. It was also proof that something was wrong.
