Giant Clams in the Sea and the Aquarium

Ok i just got my copy of this book yesterday. i did the usual "drool at the pics and read the captions" first, then i got to reading. only up to chapter 3 so far, but its clear James did his homework :thumbsup:. just in the first 2 chapters there are many many references to back up James' claims and he repeatedly encourages you to go to these references to learn more. and if you have any questions about how clams feed ,what they eat, do they filter feed, can they get by with out filter feeding and the big one "do you need to feed small clams" (NO HE DIDN'T ) you wont have these questions after chapter 2.

that's it for now, now i need to go forget some things to make room for the rest of the book

Cool stuff. During my time in college I had a profesor show us a presentation of his trip to asia and the plight of sealife there. He had a photo of a good number of very big mounds of giant clam shells on the beach. Very sad to see so many harvested, considering how long it must have taken them to get so large.

yes, there a staple food in many parts of Indonesia, Malaysia and the South Pacific not to mention the Sushi trade around the world.
