Giant cup mushroom coral

I am wandering what people feed giant cup mushrooms? I also want to know if I should put the food on it and let it feed itself or if I should put it in its mouth I am also looking to upgrade my lighting system with a metal halide and vho combo. I have a 55gal tank and I am looking for a combo to fit this since it is about 13inches wide.

Thanks

Try Cyclopeze. Melt it, mix with tank water, shut the pumps off, and gently squirt the food at it with a turkey baster (while the polyps are extended).

It will feed it's self, your shrimp, small fish and other things that wander on to it. I finally got rid of it after it downed my fire shrimp.

Perfect! feed it meaty foods and place it near the mouth. I'm not sure what you mean by "let it feed itself" but yeah, I mean your not going to force feed it. Just put the food on it and it will feed.

People have differing opinions. I have been told to both target feed as mentioned with a baster, I have also been told that it will take care of itself. From my understanding many soft corals produce most of there own food assuming they have proper lighting, and although they do feed on things in the tank, it's not necessarily imperative. IMHO

I started feeding mine fresh chopped shrimp and have not had any problem with it eating my fish or anything else in my tank. One has even grown an extra mouth so I guess I can expect a split sometime soon.
