I upgraded tanks and when I tried moving the gig it tore. I thought it was attached to the rock it was on but it was attached to the tank bottom. I didnt think I pulled that hard but I guess I did. Is it a goner? I cant really post a pic because the tank is still a little cloudy from the sand.

It almost tore in half around the center f the nem. I have cipro but wasnt sure what would be best. Please help if you can, thanks.

I just wanted to add that it is attatched to a rock in the new tank. Not fully expanded but its not moving and the clowns are hovering around it.

Assuming you've had it for a while, I would pull it out and treat asap. It might look 'ok', but very likely it will develop a bacterial infection sooner or later as it heals.

Heres how it looked before

And here's how it looks now

I want to treat it if necessary but I dont want to add stress to it if its unnecessary

I think that being cut in half is a good reason for being treated, don't you think? ;)
Don't be deceived by the apparent 'healthy' look. From my experience it will be just a matter of time before it will deflate. If I was you, I would keep the HT ready to go and at first deflation you should treat. If the damage is extensive also in the column, I doubt it will make it. If it is just on the oral disc, it has good chances to recover. Others might chime in with their opinion on the matter.

I would treat immediately too, the longer you wait the worse it is... I waited with mine (thought he was ok) and ten got bad- luckily he is looking good after treatment (mine wasn't ripped though, but if it was I would treat it as a just in case)

I agree that an immediate treatment should be done. However with an injury like that there's no guarantee it won't get infected even after treatment. Goes to what Clorox said about an extensive damage on the foot. Hope I am wrong and your anemone pulls through. Best of luck.

There are a few people had their healthy Gigantea torn. Most of the case the larger pieced survive while the smaller piece did not. You may want to do a search on this topic. I have no experience on this, but it seem reasonable to treat the anemone. You need to set up the HT such that it will not stress the anemone.

I set up a 20g for treatment if it deflates. So far it seems ok. The small piece has now tort
totally fallen off but is still green and inflated also. Im guessing the small piece will die. Hopefully the rest pulls through

Started treatment on the smaller piece today. The larger one still seems ok but the smaller one didnt look so hot. It was attached and green but deflated. I will post progress.

Didnt have Cipro so I did 250mg of Levaquin.
