Gigas and Derassa on BB tank

I have a Gigas, and a Derassa clam in my tank, I just sucked all the sand out to go BB. I now remember that these clams prefer to be in sand rather than on the rock. I was wondering if they will still be ok sitting on bare glass? Should I add a cup of sand for them to sit in? They are healthy and it does not seem to be effecting them at all yet, I just want to make sure it will stay that way.

they will be fine sitting on a barebottom tank, my friend has a few derasa on a bare bottom tthat are now well over 12" long.

I currently have a 5" gigas and a 12" derasa on a bare bottom and they are doing very well. I also originally had them on a sand bottom and then sucked out all the sand and went bare bottom. It has been 3 months and they look great. My carpets on the other hand hate it.
