Glass aquarium scratch removal ideas

I'm having "the glass guru" come out to look at it. He says he can polish the entire thing in an hour. Im going to remove the sand and live rock and cover everything else up by masking. He said he uses a polish. I'd have to clean with vinegar and water after. If that fails I'm driving to VISIO to have them replace the front. He said it would be 75 which is worth the risk

Polishing the glass is a TERRIBLE idea. How big is the tank? How is it built (rimless/framed)? What are the dimensions and how thick is the glass?

Polishing glass reduces glass thickness in the area being polished and will significantly reduce the safety factor of the tank.

Edit: I was going to ask why you thought driving from IL to CA to the Visio location was a worthwhile cause, but then i noticed you are posting in a local Chicago forum yet your tag says Bakersfield (CA I'm guessing). Threw me off for a minute there

I was told that polishing takes next to nothing off. The glass is 3/8 inch I think, it's pretty stout. He said he wouldn't be using any sandpaper just light polish. Not sure how I ended up in this forum.

I think I'm going to just deal with the scratches. Not worth the risk and the results seem to be not as effective. Thanx for input people's
