Glass Canopy / Cat Proofing Red Sea Max S

Hi All, while I wait to hear back from Red Sea Cust Serv :lmao:
I thought I'd ask here.

I'm getting ready to combine two 29G Biocubes into a Red Sea Max S 500.

My only issue I need to solve is a kitten that I know is going to try to go fishing.

Are there any commercially available glass canopies available for the Red Sea Max S's? If I were concerned only about curious paws, I'd go with some mesh or egg crate solution. I need something sturdier and I'd rather not have to DIY a glass canopy.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

That's not a rimless tank correct? You could make or contract a wooden canopy to match. If you want glass, custom may be the only option.

Simply laying two pieces of glass over the tank will create issues with heat, moisture build up, and eventually crud on the bottom side of the glass. The light will obviously be affected.

What about just laying a simple piece of clear 1/2in acrylic ontop. You can even have in the center an inset removable piece for day to day access when you dont need to move the entire lid off

I just went to the hardware store and got glass cut to fit. I use a wide piece and a 5 inch piece that I can lift with a plastic tab I glued on. I don't get heat buildup with LEDs and I don't get crud on them either. My experience with acrylic is that it warps. I don't put any connector between the glass plates, just push them together.
