Glass for sump?

How thick does glass need to be to safely hold water pressure at a height of 12 inches? The thickest piece Lowe's carries around here is 2.5mm I believe. I am rebuilding my sump due to failure of the first baffles made from thin acrylic. I'd like to get it right this time.

1/4" would do, mine is 12" and 4 baffles cost me roughly $40 at a glass shop. Look up a glass shop in the area and have them cut it to size for you. Make sure you have them polish the top so that you won't get cut.

My local True Value cut mine to fit, $1.99 per baffle. That includes the glass. I just sanded the edges down a bit with medium grit sandpaper, no sharp edges.
