Hey guys thinking to another DIY project.
my upflow ATS is not as good as I had hoped for. the air bubbles holes keep getting clogged. it rocks it there cleaned just seam to have a heard time keeping it that way. if you guys having any input on that I would be grateful.
I do like how thin and out of the way it is.
so I am thinking about going to a waterfall ATS. I really like turbos aquatics scrubbers just having a hard time parting with $400.
so my option is to do a DIY...
I am thinking of either acrylic or glass box to enclosing the AS in trying to keep it looking good here. well some what anyway I am not a master craftsman here.
so my questions are.
is there a reason to enclose the Ats vs get it hang out?
glass box vs acrylic.
if I go glass I was thinking of a 2.5 gallon tank as I frame then use 1/4" plate for the panels I drill. as the glass is supper thin and hard to drill. paint it black except for the windows for the leds lights.
now if I do with a acrylic box I am having trouble figuring out how to cut out the windows for the leds. I have very limited tools.
or for the sides would it be best to use 4 small pieces the weld them together then glue clear in for the window. as of now that is that I am thinking to do if I go black acrylic...
would a glass hole saw be the best tool to make holes or go with a wood whole saw?
