I've never used acrylic for a light, but I know it takes very little heat to make acrylic pliable and warp as witnessed by the tank covers that I so meticulously crafted only to have them sag in the middle.
Yes i want to protect from water. not that i have seen much splashing in my tank DMBillies that is what i thought. i figured the heat would make acrylic flexible
Tempered Glass. I've tried using non-tempered and it doesn't end up working well . Trust me, tempered glass is only an extra $10 bucks and it will save you alot of hassel.
