glass or plexiglass?

quick question. I am going to have a lid cut for my aquarium, on which ill be placing a 260 watt T5 lighting system. is glass the best way to go or is plexiglass ust as good? heat dissipation, light reflection etc..

Plexiglass tends to bow with the heat of the lights.

I would use eggcrate, but if only those two glass.

I've always used plexiglass no problem. It'll bow a little, but you don't have to worry about breaking it and getting sliced in half every time you go to access your tank.

acrylic warps too much for my liking. i had 1/4 inch glass cut into two pieces, one wider than the other. i then connected the two pieces with a plastic piano hinge so I can open up the front, smaller half with a glued on handle to get into the tank. works great.
