Glass shops.

It's been a while(years) since I've been on, but I'm finally back in the Memphis area unfortunately. With the new house, I figure it's time for a new reef. My hope is to build a 24X24x12 half cube with a 150MH pendant.

On to my question though. Have any of you had any experience with the glass shops in the Memphis area? Do yall know if any of them drill glass? Having holes for bulkheads would make this build much cleaner.

Thanks guys(and gals)!

P.s. It's good to be back. :)

I'd check or call the LFS' to see if there's any surplus cubes out there. I wanna say there are. Specificially, I thought MemFish had some drilled cubes about that size for either a display tank, or a sump. Can't recall.

I'm not a fan of DIY tanks, only because it's pretty risky and the down-side is simply Awful. If you buy a tank from MemFish, and the glass isn't tempered, they'll drill it for you.

P.S. - Welcome Back!

i went by memfish earlier today, but i was rather rushed by the fear of the then falling snow freezing up the bridges back to the house. :/ i must say, it was really nice to get back to an LFS that even had a saltwater section!

I'll definitely check back there this week sometime, and will probably swing by kermit's towards the end of the week.

I have the same question as the original one posted - are there any good glass shops here in the Memphis area?

I need glass baffles cut for a sump, as well as an external overflow for one of my new reef tanks, and recently moved to the Memphis area but can't locate any glass shops. Any help would be appreciated.

You can buy acrylic at home depot and some aquarium silicone and make those baffles yourself. Hope this helps.
