Glass stained on top, need advice

Hello all, I just bought a 75 g rimless tank and it is in very good condition for the exception of water stains where the old water used to rest at the top of the tank, i have scraped it,I have used vinegar a couple of times, even left it rest with vinegar for hours and still the stains won't go away. Is there any solution that I can use for this, the tank is clear as water but those stains are really bothering me lol. Thanks for any help

1. Make a paste of baking soda and vinegar. Half/half.
2. Apply the paste to the glass and allow to sit.
3. Scrub lightly with a brush, a towel, or a sponge.
4. Wash the paste away from the glass with water.
5. Clean the glass with water or a traditional glass cleaner, but be sure to dry it thoroughly so that the water spots do not re-form.

I hope this works.

I wouldn't use traditional glass cleaner on the glass of an aquarium especially the inside, the chemicals from the cleaner get absorbed by the glass and will ruin your water chemistry and possibly kill your livestock.

Water, vinegar or cleaner specifically used for aquarium glass like this https://www.amazon.com/API-Aquarium-Cleaner-8-Ounce-Bottle/dp/B001D728VI is all I use, to be honest though I don't think I would even trust that cleaner to be safe inside the tank, water or vinegar is all I would use there. That cleaner I use primarily on the outside of the tank.

Thanks for all the help, tjm9331 the tank is empty right now,that is why I want to clean that mark so it looks nice and neat once I fill it up and I wouldn't trust a lot of stuff either if it had livestock in it.

just an update, i used the magic eraser, tank looks exactly the same as before after using it, so on to the next method

Don't expect much of an improvement.. Its likely permanent..

yeah was thinking of that, probably have to live with it, maybe it won't look that bad once is filled with water:worried2:

Sometimes cheap glass discolors over time, and maybe the water line you see if from the water protecting the glass from intense light.

My theory I’m not sure about, BUT cheap glass discoloring over time is a fact.
