Glass still scratching.

My glass keeps scratching, I have try many magnets and still the same.
What do you use to clean it?? I am very carefull to no pickup sand with the magnet.
What Iam doing wrong?

Probably nothing, could be just dumb luck, there are lot's of other little stuff that can get stuck in the magnet, I clean mine really good prior to each use since I get those little spiroid whatever wormie dusters on the glass everywhere, some are tiny enough that I don't notice them until after I put a big scratch on the tank...Luckily for me, all the scratches have been on the tanks side panes where I really don't look as often.

Let ya in on a little tip I've learned HPD, keep your eyes open for any local fish clubs, classified ads in the paper, even here on RC for used tanks/equipment. You can find so many awesome deals it'll make your head spin. I have enough room and time available to handle a few tanks but I have over 25 sittign througout the house just because I find them so cheap. My latest was a 110 gallon pre-drilled for closed loop, no noticable scratches on it, only paid $50. One before that was a 220g I picked up for $575, but came with stand and canopy. I spent more than those two combined for the scratched up 55g I'm currently using .

Sure you have glass and not acrylic. Acrylic is very easy to scratch (also easy to repair) .. glass does scratch but it sounds like you have extensive scratching in a small amt of time and I think thats very unusual.

Same as i, i have some scratches from my Mag Float, now you know what i do? I use my old credit card yeah it takes more time, but i don't want no more damn scratches on my glass, wish i could get a bigger tank, but ill wait till i get my own home till then the 180 or larger will have to wait!

Yes that is very strange is AGA.
I belive that this kind of glass scratches very easy. I would like to polish it, but dont want to turn my tank down. I dont know, i heat that, I didnt realice because of the actinics, but when the day light comes you can see a beautifull ste of scratches in the front glass. Darn!!!!! and doble Darn!!!!!!!!!!!
I think I should use my current CC, I cant use it anyway because to much happyness-reefing-habbit!!!!

If your back glass panel is clear and unscratched you might consider turning the tank around ... a PIA but you can get that down if a few hrs.

Aha............... so I guess I have to drill the front glass and the new front glass (old back glass) it will have 3 nice holes.

The other PIA alternative is to replace the front glass panel .. doesn't cost much but I suspect the tank will be out of commission for at least a couple of days which can get complicated.

My front glass is panoramic, and at least in here there is nobody that can make it for reasonable amount of money.

I have been saying all along. Use the plastic windshield ice scraper. It's $0.99 in the dollar store. It does not scratch and has big handle that will not cramp up your fingers as easily as a credit card. Listen up.
