Glass Thermometer Broke

My glass thermometer cracked on the bottom and all the little black things went in my sand. I took my net and got most of it out but is there any potential danger since it broke in the tank.

Those are metal, can rust or leech copper etc (depending on the material). Grab a magnet and see if that will attract them.

Get a hose and siphon the rest out, but get it OUT.

There are plastic ones, and the digital ones have probes... can get them for ~$6

What kind of plastic is it if does not melt. If my heater tuches the side of my sump for an extended pierod of time it leaves a white scorch mark

I don't think its really that big of deal. Just try and get out as much as you can(broken glass, metal beads, ect..)and you should be alright.
