Glueing soft corals (can you do it?)

I was wondering if any of you have glued soft corals, mushrooms or zoo's.

I see that some people have used zoo's to decorate there power heads and other equipment.

Can you do this with out kill any soft corals?

You can't glue mushrooms because they slime too much and the glue won't stick. I'm not sure about zoos but i'm pretty sure you can. Super glue gel. For the shrooms you need to hold them down on top of some rock or crushed coral until they attach on their own, then you can glue the rock or coral to whatever you want to attach them to. I just put them in my frag tank in a little tupperware container with some little pieces of rock ant they attach. if they blow out you can cover it up with some mesh cloth.

i second Scott's advice...but also...

i've found the palythoa/ button polyps to be pretty tough at their base and they seem to glue pretty easily, just blot them down real quick with a paper towel and use no more glue than you would need, if it winds up sliming over you probably used too much
as for other soft corals, and this might work for shrooms too...to overcome the slimyness...i have taken plastic tooth pics(broken down to size), stuck them horizontaly through the base, and then glued the toothpick to the rock work

i usually let the shroom drift around my tank for a day or tow. in that time tehy'll pick up some sand and then you can glue the sand to the rock/ frag plug or whatever your gluing it too.

and ive used zoas to cover up my closed loop output. works pretty good and there starting to grow over it nicely.

Zoas easily glue to rock, but lik eBrad said, blot them dry first with a paper towel.
Also be careful and consider using rubber gloves. Some zoas are extremely toxic and some people are more sensitive then others.

yup, i fragged some palythoas last month. thought i washed my hands, or maybe didnt wash them good enough, anway, i had a metal taste in my mouth for a whole day. situation could have ended a lot worse.

Yep, there are people that have full blown rashes, nausea and even passout.

As far as shrooms are concerned... The best trick I have seen to attach them is to use a rubber band and strap them to the rock, not too tight, but tight enough they won't slip out.

Now mind that they are slimy and hard to strap down. The polyp will usually split in two from the rubberband. After it attaches, just snip the rubberband off.
