Gluing Bulkhead Fittings

Hi everyone:

I have a kind of stupid question about gluing bulkhead fittings. I'm using Rainbow Lifeguard 2" fittings.

First, does the rubber gasket go inside the bottom of the tank?

Second, where would I glue? On the outside along the bottom?

The gasket goes on the flange side, not the nut side. There is no need to glue them.
