gluing frag rocks to rocks?

I am kinda a newbie...

I just got some Zoa frags on little rocks and I understand they should be in the middle of the tank on the LR. I was wondering if I should just put the small LR that the Zoa's are on in the sand at the bottom of the tank, or should I glue the frag LR to a strategically placed location in the middle depth on some larger pieces of LR?

WHAT SUPER GLUE GEL DO I USE? brand name? how dry do the rocks need to be?

thanks!

If I were you, I would place (Not glue) the zoanthoids in a spot that you, and them, like. If that place is working out, then glue it. If not, move them to another spot.

The glue I use is this stuff:

which can be found on their website

The rock doesn't have to be dry at all... you put the gel onto the frag, then stick it into the tank where you want it. Hold it for 30 or so seconds then you're good to go.

How do i know they like the spot? by how full they open?

COOL! thanks

By consistently, day by day, opening fully. I'd give it a couple of days before you make it stuck there.
The only bad part is if a snail or some crab knocks it down. You gotta keep an eye on it and if it has fallen, put it back up =)

You can glue it wherever you want at anytime. Even if you have to move it, it will pop right off.

Any cyanoacrylate gel or epoxy will work. If you're unsure of a coral's placement in a tank, just use a rubberband or the epoxy. Epoxy is pretty solid once it has dried, but with a strong tug you'll "pop" it off the rock.

The gel is a bit different. It bonds pretty tough and you'll have more of a hard time peeling a frag rock off your live rock.

Another thing with cyanoacrylate gels is that they begin to harden as soon as the water touches them so you've got to be quick with placement otherwise it won't affix correctly.

All in all, just read the directions on the side of the box and you'll be fine. Best of luck!

any super glue gell will work. What i usually do is use a combo of glue and the putty that fish stores sell to glue rocks together. Put glue on the rock then a ball of the putty on that then glue on the putty. The put it where you want it but move QUICK after it hits the water because the glue sets up very quickly when wet.

This is the best way easy to move later if you dont like the position or the frag does not like it there
