Be warned when you take the tank down scraping those corals off can be a chore! I did that with montis and cyphastreas and it was a PITA! Especially the cyphastreas since they grow much thicker.

Right now I have 3 different montis growing on the bottom glass and I scrape it off to frag it. It's not that difficult to scrape off if you use a blade
I have montis, acros and pocillopora growing on the bottom glass and near some of the sides. I really have had no problem removing it (or keeping it under control I should say). I like the bare bottom to be coral covered. If it starts getting to close to the front glass I just use a scraper to cut/crush it back a bit.
