Go big, or go home..

Welcome to the big tank club lol. We got a 265 but it sits empty in the house right now. We've moved about 3 times with this tank & it's a pain to move. Gonna wait to set it up cause need to remodel where it's gonna go in its final spot. But a taller stand is nicer cause you'll likely be under it more than your in it. We're gettin rid of the MH & goin LEDs & gonna be a mostly fish tank with simple corals so can keep down cost on additives. Our 85 hex tank is gonna stay the main coral tank. At least that's what we plan lol.

Bigger is better more stable.Been running a180 for years with no water changes just two part dosing, top off ro-di and carbon dose vinegar sugar. I know it can be done easy it has worked foe me.
Happy reefing
Rick

I started out in a 42 then a 46 then a 65 ... had a 25 for my kids(the hardest one of all) and now I'm in my 120 and its by far the easiest of all in fact looking back when I upgraded from the 65 to the 120 I now wish I went 220 at least ... so Much more room for more rock work ideas and bigger fish and reed safe eels .... the displays at coral corral are huge but give you an idea of what I mean.

I was always scared of going bigger just seemed harder to me but now I wish I had gone much bigger ... its just so much easier to maintain and keep stable IMO ...

Lol I don't even have water in my 340 gal system (225 gal tank 75 gal sump and 40b frag tank) Not including the tank I have about $2500 invested so far...still have to get a ATO,Neptune ,another d120 led (have 3 but need one for my 40b frag tank that will be plumbed into same system ) still need refuge light, chaeto, and pump for the 2 55 gal water change station I have in the works, more wavemakers and about a dozen socks, gfo, carbon, kalk or vodka...uggg the list never ends lol...and I might be moving across town in a few months so moving this system will be a nightmare
