Does anyone know how many Rockford reefer members there are?I also live in Rockford and I have been into reefing for years, and im sure you will all agree there is nothing in Rockford for reefers.I go to Chicago at least twice a month.

Currently we are pushing about 30 on the members list, however most meetings hit about a dozen or so. Which is cool as it allows for more personal interaction, and better odds at winning prizes. If I'm not mistaken we have had some sort of give away at every meeting, weather it was a gift from a LFS, a speacial discount or contest.

Need corals..will travle.
Some of the stores a lot of the members go to are
Rod's Reef in Dekalb and Ocean's Floor in Lake in the Hills. One of our members Shawn goes to a place in Freeport he is real happy with, I forget the name and haven't checked it out myself, but Shawn's word is good enough for me. I also like Sea Schor in Buffalo Grove, but it is a hike from here. I work out that way so it is only a few minutes from where I am, also out that way is Sho Tanks another good one. I also do on-line. If you are able to make it to frag fest on the 24th Rod's, Sea Schor, and Ocean's Floor will all be there.

Exotic Marine is the place near Freeport. Drakes selection of LPS is getting thin but he still has a lot of softies and live rock left. He is suppose to be going to the importer soon, I will have to ask when because that is when you get the best pieces to choose from. The prices are good and he is always negotiable if you are a regular or are buying more than one piece. His number is 815-291-4231.

Ocean's Floor is minutes from Exotic. Jeff is pretty cool at EA, he gave use $125 worth of gift cards for the frag fest raffle. I think Tuesday I'm going to try and get to EM

Has anyone been to Living Seas? They are expensive but the place is unreal when it comes to fish selection. They have a huge shark pond, and a giant ray pond as well. Its cool just to see.

That's about it, cool to see. I stopped going there when I saw the owner sell a newbie a clam. What make this bad is the exchange I heard about this persons lighting, standard flo. Now the owner did say he would have better results with this metal halide system, oh it's only $1200. They are only after your dollar, not advancing the hobby. Cool place to look though.
