i purchased this guy at a lfs as a yellow watchman, but as he started to grow his color started to turn a dull green with red stripes and developed into quite a beautiful fish. anyone have any idea what kind of goby it is if not a yellow watchmen

sorry its kind of hard to see the green in my picks but like i saids its a dull green but very prominent

Samething happend to mine, a beautiful yellow now tan or grayish with blue spots.

I was curious and did some research, appearently this is common and not a sign of disease or stress as others insisted.

Long story short my YWG is still giving me dirty looks two years later.

it looks like a young C. pavoninoides. It should develop a black foot over time and get quite large, attaining 6-7".
