You can use whatever you want. The fish don't care.

I cam currently using 2x6' VHO. I have used halides before and really like the looks of the fish under them.

you can use anything i like the color options that the t5s give so that would be perfect if you dont mind the heat. i am using a 4x 96w pc fixture only because i got it cheap and i want to grow coraline. but you can use regular flourescents if you arent kepping anything with lighting requirements.

I use a 35 watt daylight and 40 watt actinic on my tank...

That's what I use on my 90. It is a little over kill, but you can always only use two.
I also started putting some easy corals in with no problem.

you can keep alot of corals under t5s i have had some great sps growth under them on my reef.

I use the Current Extreme 2x54HO way plenty for my 75.
