Looks good! it will look even better once that cutting board get's some coraline growing on it. Did you end up ordering the cutting board online or did you find some place local to get it?

i'll work on that tank wipe down.....i got the cutting board from regal in evansdale it was actually way cheaper than i thought....i'll work on getting some more pics up this afternoon

I go bare bottom for a couple of reasons:

1. When it's really hot and humid

2. When I want to irritate the neighbors

3. When I'm cleaning my tank. Keeps the fish occupied as they keep tying to get the "shrimp" on the other side of the glass! :rollface:


On a serious note, from what I've read there are a couple of legitimate reasons:

For SPS keepers that want a tremendous amount of flow that would otherwise stir up the sand bed.

To eliminate nitrate problems sometimes attributed to a sand bed.

Appearance.

Wow I think it looks much better. I like the rock work. The trick to running a bb system is to make sure that the flow in the tank keeps anything from settling on the starboard. Keep in mind that anything that is just sitting on the starboard will begin to hurt your water quality in a matter of hours. If you find that you need to siphon detritus off the bottom, then you are fighting a losing battle. It looks like all of your flow is in the top half of the tank. You might need more flow, but i bet you can keep everything in suspension with proper placement of the pumps.

lol thats cause you can't see the mag 5 i put on the bottom to keep it clean.....i'm running a total of 6 pumps including 2 seio 820's, a 1100, a 1500, a rio 2100 and a mag 5 but i will definitly keep an eye on it and thanks for the wonderful comments

it's doing pretty good i've had a small bloom but i expected that. other than that i think it's pretty sweet
