Going from bare bottom to deep sand bed

I would seriously reconsider this action, months of heartache lay ahead, Buy some better pumps, you wil have to wait months or years for the tank to resettle.

Not if he's got a decent filter. I did this. It worked fine with no casualties in my tank whatsoever.

I bought 60# of aragonite sand from Marcorocks.com and am going to do the change from crushed coral to a sandbed (hopefully 4+" deep) either this weekend or next.

For the person considering doing a mixed CC and sand bed, I'd tell you to do a bit more research on it as the opinion I saw was overwhelmingly against this.. "No better than CC itself".
