Going Nano-Downsizing

Hi All,

After pondering this for a while, I'm coming to the conclusion that it's time to breakdown my 55gal reef and start in the world of Nano. The cost of running 2 250w MH, the time spent, skimmer problems, equipment cost, and all other stuff that goes along with a big tank has become too much. I am looking at starting a 10gl. I have plenty of small LR, power heads, good sand and water. I have been reading some in this forum and have lots of questions.
First of all...I would love to buy a 10gl combo set (stand and lights only). Does anyone have any good suggestions? Next...I've noticed that a lot of you use the AC 110 filter. Is this a good choice, and if so, is it easy to turn into a refuge? I have read posts on turning it into one and it doesn't look so bad!
Or...is it better to buy a whole combo set, filter and fuge together? I just want to have some softies and keep my false perc. Hope you guys have some insight and I appreciate the help. Also, anyone out there who, like me, has downsized, if so how is keeping a nano in comparison to a large tank? Thanks!!!!

Buy a 24 AquaPod. I'm breaking-down my two 10 gallon setups.
Electricity plus I do spend a lot more time on my 10's then I do on my 90 and 40 put together.
Just my opinion.

DRC69, Do you use a refuge? I saw some of your other posts and am very glad to see you don't use a skimmer either. I'm trying to stay away from all of that. I feel that a refuge would be very helpful. I don't have one for my 55 because of space problems. I am looking forward to having a small one for my nano though. The modified HOB filters look good. My plan is to just have one of those as a refuge w/chaeto and a couple of small water changes. Sound OK?
