So I'm leaving on an unplanned international trip on Thursday and I've been thinking about my lighting while I'll be gone.
It's two GalaxyHydro 165w LED black boxes over a 48 inch tank. They're on timers and run at about 80% blue/20% white during the day.
I've got someone coming by every other day to do top offs and feeding, and was wondering if it would be okay to leave the lights at 80% blue and 0% white for the time they would be on. They're set to come on around 8am and turn off around 8pm.
I've got mostly softies/LPS and a few SPS like birds nest and some stylos, couple random acros.
The reason I'd like to do this is because the white light is really only for me and my wife to look at, and with no one being around the tank for more than 5 minutes/day for the next week I wouldn't be able to see any strange algae issues due to the white lights.
