Going rimless now. Need some input.

Hey Reefers,

So I'm in the process of resealing my 75G Display tank. I have removed the top rim and broke it in the process. So I guess I am going rimless now.

I want to go with a bridge on each side for the support. My question is how wide should they be and how thick should glass bridge be? The tanks is 36" long by 18" wide.

I'm not sure what you mean by bridge. Your options would be:
First Choice: Eurobrace all four sides with glass 2-1/2" wide and at minimum the same thickness as your tank's glass.
Second choice: a single center brace 3" wide again as thick or thicker than your tank's glass.
Be sure to have the glass edges polished

Thanks. I was thinking of euro brace but didn't know the term.

As I have looked into euro bracing and I understand the principal of the front and rear panels length with (across the length of the front and back) but I don't see what having 2 extra pieces on the sides would do as they are only siliconed to a small section of the side panels.

I used the calculator on Graf and said I should go 10mm 2" wide. I was thinking a bit wide at 3" or 4".

They all act in concert together to strengthen the tank. You could brace just the long sides but the tank will be much stronger if you brace all four sides. The short side braces help strengthen the long side braces.
