so how many people are there going to be and are we still a go for 9 am? also what will we need to bring to this event?

thanks,

yep...9am. I personally would wear water shoes because it is stingray time!! Bring a cooler and air pump if you plan on taking anything back. It'll be hot so you might want to pack some water.

Yep that was fun! I still can't get over all of those serpent stars.

I set up the 55-gallon at school with a big rock bed on one side and lots of grasses and plants on the other for the bigger fish. I really wanted that tank ready for the start of school. It looks awesome!!

Mark and Eli, did you nuts get anything when you went out to the bouys after we left? How deep was it? Clarity? I wish I wasn't such a chicken!

It was really nice meeting you all.

lol how was the flight?

We let most things go.

........ok so we caught lots of serpent stars in the bay. Every seine was filled with dozens/hundreds of pinfish. Caught 2 big dog fish (we used to call them mother-in-laws where I grew up). One big porcupine puffer and several little puffers. Lots of small grunt, snappers, trout. A couple of file fish, big pipe fish, and lots of GIANT blue crabs "playing tag" ......ok that's what I told my kids they were doing because I didn't want to explain why there was a big crab on the back of every smaller crab. Lots of shrimp and large needle fish.

Then we went to the beach and caught lots pompano, puffers, green backs, glass minnows, spanish mackeral.

It was a lot of fun. I really had to read up on my license before I went. As long as everyone is having fun and no one is trying to make $$ off of stuff...it's all good.

The sky was blue and the water felt good. It was a good day.

I was suprised we didn't get any seahorses though...but at least we didn't find any sting rays either :D !!

well we went out to the bouys but the only things that were hanging around them were some belted sandfishand some little pinfish. as for the clarity it wasent to great. once you started getting close to the bottom about 20-25ft down the water turned really green and you couldnt see more than a foot infront of you. we didnt bring anything back from the bouys either. it was an overall good day though. thanks again

The flight was fine, I got into the area around 1:30pm. Only thing I was hoping was the flight landed like two hours early.

I decided to walk the shallow grass near the marriott. I saw some hermit crabs, 1 large crab, and lots of these fish that looked like a brown camoflauge. What is this fish?

Beside the porcupine, what type of puffers can are around?

I'm not sure what type of puffers these were. They were about the size of a dime when puffed and they were VERY gelatenous and see through. I know there are many types out there though. We caught some different ones last time.

As far as the "brown camoflage" fish...how big are they? Are they flat? Usually in surf we see whiting and pompano by the shore. Not sure what you saw....sorry.
